Rongos Maori

Last term we learnt about rongoa Maori. It was fun, we  all enjoyed making kawakawa balm and oil. We also had to make packaging and labels for the balm. I found it easy because you just need to make a box net on google drawings and we learnt how to make sure the sides were the correct size. Next time I need to cut the net out straighter and fold carefully on the lines.
In the unit I learnt that lots of native plants can be used to heal us in different ways. Harakeke can help you if you have a sprained ankle by using the stalk as a splint. Harakeke can be used to heal blisters and minor cuts.
